u.ai Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how u.ai collects, uses, stores, shares, and deletes information when you use the u.ai application and its related backend services.
1. Information we collect
Depending on the features you use, u.ai may collect:
- Account information: name or display name, email address, date of birth, internal account identifiers, authentication state, and session metadata.
- Device and security information: device-binding and application-integrity identifiers and related security signals used for authentication, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, and service security.
- World, gameplay, and user-created content: worlds, characters, descriptions, messages, posts, comments, stories, relationship context, world setup information, prompts, and other content you create or submit inside the simulation.
- Cloud world backups: serialized world data associated with your authenticated account when cloud backup or restore features are used.
- AI and image content: prompts, descriptions, world context, character context, conversation context, and generated outputs needed to provide AI-powered text and image features.
- Subscription information: u.ai Plus entitlement state, product identifiers, subscription status, purchase-event metadata, expiration information, and related subscription records received from Apple and RevenueCat. u.ai does not receive or store your full payment-card details.
- Product interaction and operational diagnostics: request IDs, AI job IDs, world IDs, task type, model information, token usage, generated-image metadata, retry/fallback state, latency, error codes, estimated provider cost, and timestamps. These records may be linked to your account or world when needed to operate quotas, billing entitlements, reliability, security, and diagnostics.
2. How information is collected
Information may come directly from you, from your use of the app, from Apple authentication and application-integrity services, from Apple purchase systems, from RevenueCat, and from u.ai's backend infrastructure.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- create, authenticate, secure, and manage your account;
- create and operate your worlds and simulation features;
- save and restore eligible world backups;
- provide AI-powered text and image generation;
- verify and provide u.ai Plus subscription benefits;
- apply account, world, usage, and provider limits;
- prevent abuse, fraud, duplicate requests, and security attacks;
- diagnose failures and maintain service reliability;
- measure provider usage and operational cost.
4. Google Gemini and AI processing
u.ai uses Google Gemini for AI-powered features. Relevant content may include messages, world information, character information, posts, comments, stories, image descriptions, prompts, and other context required to generate the requested result.
u.ai requires explicit permission for third-party AI processing before AI requests for an account are sent to Google Gemini. Content is sent from the app to u.ai's backend and then, where required for the feature, to Google Gemini.
You can revoke this AI-processing permission from u.ai Settings. Revocation blocks future AI requests for that account after the revocation takes effect and prevents access to AI-powered worlds until permission is granted again. Revoking permission does not by itself delete saved worlds or information already processed before the revocation.
5. Other service providers
u.ai uses service providers only as needed to operate the product. These may include:
- Google Cloud for backend hosting, storage, security, and service infrastructure.
- Google Gemini for AI processing after the required user permission.
- Apple for App Store distribution, Sign in with Apple where used, application-integrity services, and purchases.
- RevenueCat for subscription entitlement and purchase-state infrastructure.
We require service providers handling user information for u.ai to protect it consistently with their contractual obligations, applicable law, and the protections described in this policy.
6. Cloud backups and encryption
u.ai cloud world backups are associated with your authenticated account. They are protected in transit and by the security controls of the backend infrastructure, but they are not end-to-end encrypted. The u.ai backend can read server-side backup data when necessary to provide backup, restore, security, support, or account-deletion functionality.
7. Retention and deletion
Account and product data is retained while needed to provide the service and for legitimate operational, security, accounting, dispute-resolution, and legal purposes.
Subscription webhook event receipts may be retained for up to 90 days unless removed sooner through account-deletion handling. Other operational and security records are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for their stated purpose or as required by law.
You can delete your u.ai account from Settings. Account deletion removes the server account and associated account data handled by the deletion flow, including associated cloud world backups. Local data belonging to that account is also removed by the app's deletion flow.
Deleting a u.ai account does not automatically cancel an active App Store subscription. Subscription cancellation is managed through Apple.
8. Your choices
- Revoke or grant Google Gemini processing permission in Settings.
- Delete your account from Settings.
- Manage or cancel App Store subscriptions through Apple.
- Contact support for privacy questions or data requests.
9. International processing
Service providers may process information in countries or regions other than the one where you live. Where required, applicable contractual, technical, and legal safeguards are used.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the product, providers, legal requirements, or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
